Life Cycle Costing
Life Cycle Costing is the process of compiling all costs that will occur over a lifespan.
These costs include the initial investment, future additional investments, annually recurring costs, minus any salvage value.
Why
Because construction costs are the tip of the iceberg and operational costs are hidden under the surface
How
Using a simple Excel file or OneClickLCA, Life Cycle Costing is much more about the integrated design process
than the tool used
What
LCC is usually used for BREEAM Man02 and HQE BD Objectif 7 but it can be useful at any occasion
When
At every stage of the process the life cycle costing should get updated as it is an iterative method
